Gabriola Lions Club teamed up with GaLTT, Gabriola Land and Trails for two consecutive Sundays in May 2010, pulling broom at Drumbeg Park. Forging ahead, about 20 willing volunteers carved a large swath through the thick underbrush of this invasive plant, pulling, cutting and stacking broom. GaLTT provided guidance and education on the eradication of this plant. At the end of the day, we all saw the progress achieved when willing hands make light work. A feel good Broom Pulling Party, the first for the Lions and in Lions tradition with lots of laughter and fun.
