I'm so blessed to have a neighbour as Melinda Wilde, gifted watercolour artist on Gabriola. One of my favourite watercolours by Melinda is the "View to Entrance Island" as well as "Bell of the Landscape". Both feature the rugged and beautiful Arbutus tree, stretching it's trunk well over the edge of a craggy cliff outcropping. Makes one wonder how it hangs on year after year, in wild winds and storms. Check out her site. Not only does Melinda paint landscapes, she has a sense to our wildlife on Gabriola, and whimsical things like a lineup of gumboots on the front porch. Makes you smile and feel good inside. Thanks Melinda!
