Congratulations!  Joan Ensor Nomination for Lion of the Year 2011 - 2012.  Having been a Lion for about 3 or so years, I came to know Joan Ensor through all the Lions Club meetings, of which I don’t think she’s missed one, and her being a member for 10 years. Joan’s our stalwart Christmas Party convenor, gathering our special requests with our significant others together for fun in Lionism.  Joan’s riddled us with being Tail Twister bringing laughter at every meeting. She’s a worker, too.  How many dozens of eggs have we cracked at our Lions pancake breakfasts, and how many sausages fried to perfection.  Probably this is where I got to know Joan to the most. Providing muffins during wood splitting worker-bees, assisting Mike Phillips with Concert on the Green letters, washing down over 100 signs following COG, and sending out Get Well cards are just a few more of what Joan does without a whimper, and always with a happy heart. An exemplary Lion, it shows through and through, that Joan cares, Joan serves, and that’s what Lionism is all about.  With warmth about her, and a smile on her face, she welcomes just by being her.  District Governor, Al Beddows newsletter quotes “Re-Kindle the Spirit”.  With Joan the spirit is always there!  For all of the above, plus Joan’s a loyal friend, dog lover, and great gardener, Joan has been nominated tonight at our Lions Christmas Dinner.  Standing ovation, smiles and cheers of apprecation to a lovely lady in Lionism.
